The VAC Roundtable #93 - Guest: Sabrina Fendrick, Author of Tokin’ Female
We’re thrilled to share our latest podcast episode featuring Sabrina Fendrick, one of the most impactful leaders in cannabis reform over the past 15 years.
Sabrina first made her mark at NORML, where she founded the groundbreaking grassroots initiative to mobilize women in the legalization movement, challenging both prohibition and sexism head-on. She later served as Chief Public Affairs Officer at Berkeley Patients Group, leading advocacy for equitable and sensible cannabis policies in California and beyond.
Her work has been featured in Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, BBC, Mary Janes: The Women of Weed, and other notable publications. Most recently, she’s the author of Tokin’ Female: Women, Weed, and the War on Prohibition (April 2025), an activist-driven account of her journey from the daughter of U.S. diplomats to a national leader in cannabis reform.
In this conversation, we cover:
How women reshaped the cannabis legalization movement
The role of equity in cannabis policy
Behind the scenes of making dispensaries “essential” during COVID
The future of cannabis advocacy
This is a powerful and inspiring episode you won’t want to miss.
